Welcome to the 49th annual Governor’s Conference on Highway Safety. This conference brings government agencies, private industry and community members together to learn from one another and collaborate on efforts that improve safety on our roads.
Whether it’s the educational presentations, hands-on demonstrations, or the chance to network and share best practices, this meeting is such a valuable opportunity to find new ways to create a positive impact on safety in Wisconsin.
Many of the conference attendees have worked tirelessly to keep our communities and loved ones safe, from protecting people on the roadways to developing programs and policies that improve safety. Their work is essential every day as we strive to educate the people of Wisconsin amid continuous concerns over dangerous driving behaviors.
On behalf of the state of Wisconsin, thank you to all attendees for your service and commitment to safety. We are grateful for the work you do, and as governor, I will continue to support efforts that prevent tragedies on Wisconsin’s roads.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation welcomes our many partners in traffic safety from across the state and nation to the 49th Annual Governor’s Conference on Highway Safety, August 19-21, 2024 at the Kalahari Convention Center and Resort, Wisconsin Dells.
The Governor’s Conference will provide attendees exceptional opportunities to learn more about current evidence-based best practices in education, enforcement, and developing partnerships. With our Strategies Toward ZERO and putting the Safe System Approach to work with you, we will make an impact on traffic safety in Wisconsin. We appreciate your attendance and look forward to collaborating with all of you as we continue to push to prevent traffic fatalities and serious injuries on Wisconsin roads.
